Benign Technologies - Business Profile

As a result of 20 years of formulations together with exhausting trials and authority acceptances, Benign Technologies, a division of Anderton Benign Pty Ltd was established by Product Developer Colin Anderton. With the view of marketing his New Age Technology through his environmental product range.

The ethos of Benign Technologies is to develop and produce environmentally friendly, non-chemical products. More specifically, the range of products helps to reduce water consumption, combat fire, condition soil and eliminate air pollution whilst protecting human, animal and plant life. This range of products and application devises is believed to be the first of its kind.

How it began

In 1984 while involved in the Cray fish and Marine industry, combined with the support of previous experience in the building industry, Col Anderton studied and came to understand the significance and dangers of stench and dust in several industries, Stench as we know is made up of bacteria which can cause Eyes, Nose & brain damage, while fine particles of dust in the bloodstream can cause simular illnesses to Animals & Humans.

Colin formulated Developed, trialled and a domestic/Industrial deodorant to absorb all types of odours and control bacteria. Deoderex now Deoderitt was successfully launched onto the marketplace in 1986. The standard test was to control raw crayfish odour after being contained in a bag for five days. It has been re-formulated and now known as Deoderitt. It can be used in hospitals, nursing homes, shoes, grease traps, animal holding pens or for any offensive odours. It is also approved as an animal feed supplement.

Some years later Colin developed a product called  Aquasave now expanded to the Ultra-Soil, Mr Wet & Agrayield-Droughtex Range, reformulated in liquid, Granule and Micro powder, Ultra-Soil minimising both watering by up to 95% and fertiliser use down to 15%, delays the release of water and longer periods between watering. The products prevents over watering, produces up to 40% extra yield in vegetable growing and 84% in broad acre crops, the Micro Powder acts as a filter assisting in preventing plant diseases.

Since Then

Due to their concern for the damaged environment, Benign Technologies is continually developing new, non-chemical products. They currently have over 20 products for release, including:

  • EmissonEx - Liquid:a dust particle suppressant which reduces Solid Carbon Particle air pollution from chimney stacks and exhausts emission, such as clean coal and traffic tunnels.
  • ErosinonEx - Powder, Liquid and Granule Application: for extra compaction and dust suppression on road construction, and a trafficable
  • Kilfire - Liquids and Powders: to retard and extinguish all types domestic, industrial, underground gas & Peat and Rural/Bush fires rapidly without excess water usage and damage to the environment.
  • Agrayield-Droughtex - Liquid & Granule: shallow root Crop in broad acre application where water is limited.
  • Kilfire Extreme - Specialty Products: A world wide licensed application service for Volcanic, Oil, Tip, Coal and Chemical fires.
  • Flame-ex - Liquid: A long term flame retardant for Interior fabric, Timber, Brush fencing, Thatching, Paint, paper, Cardboard, Chipboard and Plaster board.
  • Ultra-Soil - Powder liquid and granule: is placed on/or and under the soil surface and absorbs the moisture from the air and locking water under the surface at the same time preventing evaporation.
